Our condolences to the family, friends, and classmates of Jasmine Lynn, the 19-year old Spelman College student that was fatally shot this morning when shots rang out during a fight at neighboring Clark-Atlanta University, APD states. The psychology major was from Kansas City and just beginning her sophomore year. She was struck by a stray bullet, around 12:30 a.m., this morning while walking with friends. Her friends seen the gun and heard the shots, but Jasmine was struck in the chest before she could even get on the ground. Another student was also wounded during this shooting, but was treated with non-life threatening injuries at Grady Memorial.
My heart breaks for her family, no parent should have to get a call that their child, off in college, has been killed, while trying to enhance their quality of life by getting an education. So sad and unfortunate.... I pray for the peace of the family during this tragic time.
Law enforcement officials are still searching the area for suspects; however, they have identified one person of interest.
For more information see the official Spelman website: http://www.spelman.edu/jasminelynn
When are we as a people going to wake up and come together?? Not only are we killing each other over frivolous bullish, we are killing innocent bystanders that have nothing to do with our shortcomings. How many of these incidents have to occur before we do something about it?? SMH!!!
REST IN PEACE JASMINE LYNN
May you live in the sky!!!
